Weymouth Angling Society was first established in 1900 and opened it’s new clubhouse alongside Weymouth’s Inner Harbour in 1974. The surrounding area is internationally recognised as offering a wide range of fishing experiences for everyone.

Regular competitions are organized by the club for Boat or Shore including Senior, Junior and Lady Fishing Leagues. Weymouth Angling Society club members currently hold 4 British records and one World record. The very popular annual Summer Angling Festival is organised by the club in conjunction with Weymouth & Portland Borough Council.

Members enjoy a healthy social life as well as fishing there are darts, pool, whist and cribbage. We hold social functions with live bands or discos as well as  Race, Auction and Bingo nights.  The clubhouse is available for hire with a well stocked bar and catering facilities, which recently gained a W&PB food hygiene Silver award.

The society has always fostered links within the community and uses it’s disabled friendly clubhouse, conveniently located in the Town Centre opposite a multi story car-park, to assist many other local groups who may otherwise not be able to have a regular meeting place.

Club membership is open to all and application forms are available at the club H.Q. can be downloaded here, or contact the Membership Sec here. Full or temporary memberships are available.
